Question: Do you provide Men's Tuxedos for my Senior session?
Answer: Yes, as a new service for our Senior Men we now provide After Six © Brand Tuxedo Coats and wing collar shirts, bow ties, cuff links and studs for the day of your shoot. These are real Tuxedos, not cheap imitations that most yearbook photographers use. We do not provide tuxedo pants,since your yearbook shot will be from the waist up, you can pose in your street pants or favorite dockers or golf shorts. Sizes available for coats are 36-48R, longs available for 40-46. The wing collar formal shirts range in size from 14.5 to 17.5 neck with 32-34 inch length. There is no additional charge for use of our tuxedos.
Question: Why don't I get any prints with the sitting fee that I pay?
Answer: As you can see from our About us tab, we are experienced professionals and a professional's time and talent is valuable. As you will see, we work very hard throughout the session to get the most out of you and what you bring to the session. The sitting fee covers our expenses, our time and creativity; as well as all of the digital post processing and retouching that we do on your final portraits. Your final prints and products selection will be priced ala carte and paid for separately and in addition to your sitting fee.
Question: Do you offer bonus level incentives?
Answer: Yes. We offer three levels of bonus incentives that scale according to the dollar amount achieved on the order that you are placing. Please see our pricing tab for additional details. Question: How come my portraits are not yet up on your website?
Answer: We do not place portraits on our website until you have placed an order and signed a model release. Once you have done this our favorites are usually placed on the site within a week after receiving your print order.
Question: What’s the best time to have my Senior Portrait taken?
Answer: Typically we work with either rising Seniors or Seniors just as they enter their Senior year. Most Seniors choose to work with us at the end of the summer when they have achieved a healthy glow and want to show it off. There is no perfect time to do your Senior portraits and most area High Schools allow outside portraits to be taken and added to the yearbook provided they meet the yearbook deadline.
Question: Where do you get your ideas from?
Answer: We work cooperatively with you to build a portfolio of images and color schemes based largely upon your mood, outfits, background, skills and talents that you bring to the Ultimate Senior Session. Come prepared to have a great time, bring lots of outfits and a positively charged attitude. Bring your Ipod with your favorite tunes,after all this is your session and we want you to feel comfortable and energized to look your very best.
Question: Do I have to belong to a team sport or organization in school to be photographed?
Answer: Absolutely not, we are here to capture you, your Senior year and your interests. We will work with you in our consultation to determine the mood and overall feel that you would like to convey in your Portraits. Only you can define who you are and it's our job to capture that feeling for you.
Question: Can I use any of the images taken during my session on "My Space" or "Facebook"
Answer: No, your images are copyrighted and the reproduction rights belong to Barron Portraits LLC and may not be copied or reproduced at anytime without the express written permission of Barron Portraits LLC.
Question: Will Barron Portraits LLC sell me an internet ready file to use on "My Space" or "Facebook"?
Answer: Yes, as a new service offering we now offer Internet ready resolution images to be used on the Internet chat boards. These images are offered at $50.00 each. Each image will also carry the Barron Portraits logo and copyright mark and will be provided to you on a CD or it can be emailed as well. These are the only images Barron Portraits LLC permits on the Internet, any other use of your images via scanner, email or internet is protected by US copyright laws and is a violation of this law.
Question: I have relatives overseas who I want to show my pictures to. What are my options with Barron Portraits LLC?
Answer: Provided that you have already made a purchase of images and your account is in good standing with us, Barron Portraits LLC can make available no more than two images for family members to view on the "Seniors" tab of the Barron Portraits website.
Question: Will my images be displayed on Barron Portraits website?
Answer: At the time of your Senior Portraits session, your Parent and or Guardian will be asked to sign a Model release, granting Barron Portraits LLC the right to use your image(s) on our website and in future advertising and promotions. If you/they elect to do this, Barron Portraits LLC may choose to display your image(s) at anytime and also may choose to delete them at anytime without your prior permission. Images displayed on Barron Portraits are copyright and "right-click" protected from downloading. Should your Parent or Guardian choose not to sign the Model release, no images from your shoot will be posted.
Question: What High Schools do you work with?
We do not limit ourselves to any one particular school, or favor one school over another.
Question: Do you have a Senior drape for the girls to wear for yearbook portraits?
Answer: Yes; we can provide a classic black velvet drape for the girls to wear during the shoot. It has a Velcro closure in the back.
Question: Please explain the differences between a Cap and Gown, Head and Shoulders and Full Senior Session?
Answer: All three shoots are priced accordingly and described on the pricing tab on this website. Shoot times vary for each session and cannot be guaranteed. The Cap and Gown session usually takes 15 to 30 mins or so to complete the entire session, the desired posing outcome is 3/4 to full length shots as well as a few close-up shots with mortarboard and tassel.
Head and Shoulders sessions are typically done without a cap and gown and involve a suit and tie for the boys and blouse for the girls and take approx 15 to 30 mins.
The Ultimate Senior session typically takes 60-90 mins and involves a number of clothing changes from formal dresses to jeans and team uniforms for the girls to suit and tie to polo shirts and jeans and team uniforms for the boys.
Question: How much retouching work will be done and will it cost extra?
Answer: Retouching work is built into the sitting fee. A few key proofs of your shoot will be retouched as part of the digital proof viewing process. You will see these when you return to view your proofs and make your final selections. All of your purchased final selections will be retouched to minimize acne and or eliminate blemishes, shine, scars etc.
Question: What if I have body art or tattoos that I want in my portraits?
Answer: This is your choice; however since your Parents typically pay the bills you may want to get their consent on how much or how little is shown in the final portrait.
Question: Do you work with a Stylist?
Answer: Yes, we work with Meredith Ehler, a local stylist who is a former Washington Redskins Cheerleader. She has a rich knowledge and experience base in beauty and pageant work. Meredith is a freelance makeup artist and has worked with Nordstrom and MAC Cosmetics. As a former cheerleader for the Washington Redskins, Meredith understands the value of having your makeup done professionally before a special occasion like a portrait sitting. She has been doing professional makeup 15 years and has done high profile weddings across the country including a Grammy winning rock star. Question: Should I bring a friend or my Mom or Dad to the session?
Answer: Absolutely! Dave and Cathie work as a team and welcome family members to your shoot. Just remember Parents are often paying the bill so you should be prepared to consult them prior to the shoot on your wardrobe selections and respect their opinions and wishes on the day of the shoot.
Question: I have heard that the Senior shoots are a lot of fun but also a lot of work.
Answer: That’s correct! We will put you through your paces and you will have a blast!
Question: How do I decide which look(s) are best for me ?
Answer: We will be happy to give you some suggestions and work with you prior to the session over the phone. Working with a professional stylist like Meredith Ehler is a wise decision that can save you time and money as well as arguments with your Parents. We have found that a timeless look that steers clear of fads and trends end up pleasing you and your family the most.
